PM to launch olive plantation campaign in Nowshera today

NOWSHERA: Prime Minister Imran Khan will launch an olive plantation campaign in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s (KP) Nowshera today (Monday).

The premier will be briefed about olive plantation and will also address the gathering there. The olive plantation is part of the government’s ten billion tree tsunami project.

A total of 7,500 olive saplings will be planted at the Nowshera Amangarh plantation site.

Last month, Prime Minister Khan had launched the 2021 spring tree plantation drive during a ceremony after planting a sapling in Islamabad.

Adviser to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam gave a briefing to the PM regarding the spring tree plantation drive and presented the recommendations for the spots to initiate the plantation campaign.

While addressing the ceremony, PM Khan said that it is our responsibility to determine the losses and benefits the young generations could face in the next 20 years. The hazards of deforesting could be easily seen in Lahore, the provincial capital of Punjab.
